Mr. Gwnfor Evans MP, the great Welsh politician, lawyer and author and the leader of Plaid Cymru, the Welsh nationalist party, for no less than 36 years before he passed on in 2005, made the following historic and profound observation many years ago. He said,
" 'Britishness' is a political synonym for 'Englishness' which extends the English culture over the Scots, the Welsh and the Irish".
As a student of English and European history and one that was not only trained and educated by the British from the age of 7 but that is also highly conversant with their system and their ways, I can confirm that Evans is absolutely right.
His words are relevant to our situation in Nigeria as well and, in many ways, has some application here.

Fulani Herdsmen Victim
This is the same Boko Haram that they told us had been "technically defeated" two years ago and whose leader, Abubakar Shekau, they claimed to have killed a number of times over the last three years but who keeps popping up all over the place like a bad coin.
This is the same Boko Haram that they took 1 billion USD from government coffers a few weeks ago and claimed that they wanted to use it to fight.
The truth is that they have told us yet another lie and anyone that believes the fanciful tale that the money was used to fight Boko Haram or any other terrorist organisation will believe anything.
Now that the Dapchi girls have been kidnapped, the Government will allocate to itself yet another 1 billion USD and tell the Nigerian people the same old story.

Every single tribe in the country apart from the Fulani can be considred as the original owners and I said that only in the context that the Fulani only arrived in our shores 220 years ago.

There is something very interesting that Napolean Bonaparte, the greatest Emperor and leader that France ever had, once said about the British cavalry.
I believe it was at the Battle of Waterloo. He said that the British had "the best cavalry in Europe" but that it was "the worst led".
This describes the Fulani very well. They are a wonderful people who are courageous in battle, fearless and disciplined. They are also deeply loyal to their friends and bitterly ruthless and ferocious with their enemies, never forgetting a favour or a slight.
