AN ODE TO THE RISEN KING

He is the God of the Holy Bible, the giver of life. He is the Holy One of Israel whose coming was prophesied for thousands of years by the Prophets before it came to pass. He is He that humbled Himself and shed His divinity, who came down as God incarnate in the flesh, who suffered on the cross, who shed His blood, who gave up His life as a living sacrifice for our sins, who went down into hell and overcame satan and the principalities and powers, who rose again, who ascended into Heaven and who sits at the right hand of God the Father.

ARE CHRISTIANS SECOND CLASS CITIZENS IN NIGERIA?

I am glad that Father Mbaka of the Catholic Church has finally seen the light and that he has denounced the Buhari regime. This coming from a man that once supported the President vigorously, even when members of his own flock and faith were being slaughtered, marginalised and humiliated, is cheery news. Yet there are still many more Church leaders that supported the Buhari government, that sold their souls to the devil and that need to follow Mbaka's example and recant. The great philosopher, writer and intellectual Mr. Dante Alighieri once said that "the hottest place in hell is reserved for those who maintain their neutrality at a time of moral crisis".

THE FAJUYI SPIRIT

Fifty years ago today, on July 29th 1966, a man by the name of Lt. Col. Francis Adekunle Fajuyi gave his life in defence of our country and the then Head of State, General Johnson Thomas Aguiyi-Ironsi. His killers were a group of northern army officers who participated in the so-called northern "revenge coup" of July 29th 1966.

NIGERIA’S THIRD MAHDI AND THE LAST OF THE AMALEKITE KINGS

Forgive me for my curious silence over the last few months but this was due to circumstances beyond my control. As you know I was locked up in President Buhari's gulag and I was not allowed to write from there. Needless to say I missed all my readers. I have chosen to share my views about our nation today because I am aware of the fact that President Buhari has not finished with me yet and I may be picked up and thrown into detention on other trumped up charges very soon. This government will do and say anything to silence my voice but they shall not prevail. Whatever the case my safety, life and future lies in the hands of God and not theirs. Despite the obvious dangers and various warnings that I have received from both my persecutors and well-wishers I shall continue to write as long as God gives me life and liberty.

FAKE REPORT IN THE NATION NEWSPAPER THAT I AM IN HIDING AND RUNNING FROM THE EFCC

I have just read some absurd media reports in the Nation Newspaper which have qouted their sources in the EFCC as saying that I had gone underground and that I was hiding from them. This is false. I have not been invited by the EFCC by letter and neither have they phoned me or attempted to reach me in any other way. I have been in my Abuja home for the last few weeks and I am not hiding from anyone.

THE FULANI MILITANTS AND A FRIENDLY CHAT WITH AN OLD FRIEND

The following discusion took place on my Facebook friends page on May 2nd 2016. Since it is already in the public realm I have taken the liberty of.sharing it in my column as well. Though we have not seen much of each other for a while I have known Alhaji Muktari Shinkafi for the better part of the last 35 years and we are more like brothers than friends. We spent a lot of time together in our youth and in those heady and blissful days of the early and mid-1980's when I was still at Cambridge University and when I spent most of my leisure time playing polo at the Lagos Polo Club or at the Guards Polo Club in the U.K., eating caviar and drinking champagne. We had great fun in those days and Nigeria was a much better and happier place than it is now.

A BOILING SOUTHERN CAULDRON AND THE INSULTS OF THE NORTHERN GOVERNORS

Last week I wrote an essay titled 'The Road To Kigali' which was widely published. The callous response of the northern governors to the horrendous events in Enugu has compelled me to write this contribution as something of a follow-up. These are difficult and troubling times and they are times that the truth needs to be spoken more than ever. I appreciate those that publish my contributions in my various columns because, in a country that hates to hear the truth and that finds it difficult to comprehend and grasp reality, that in itself takes courage. I also appreciate the increasingly large number of Nigerians from all over the world that take the time to read my weekly contributions because without them there would be no point in writing. Now to the matter at hand.

THE ROAD TO KIGALI

In 1994 almost one million Tutsis were murdered in cold blood in the space of one month by members of the ruling Hutu tribe in Kigali, Rwanda. The genocide that took place in Rwanda at that time ranks as one if the most sordid chapters of African history and it must never be allowed to happen anywhwre again on our continent. Sadly we do not appear to have learnt the lessons of Kigali in our country probably because most Nigetians have no knowledge of history because it is not taught in our schools.

NIGERIA, BUHARI AND WHAT DONALD TRUMP WOULD NOT DO

Four months ago I wrote an essay titled "Mr. Trump and Islam". In that contribution I argued that Donald Trump, the American entrepeuner and billionaire presidential candidate, was unstoppable. I said he would win the nomination as flagbearer for the Republucan Party and then, against all odds, go on to win the November presidential election against Hillary Clinton. The first has happened and, even though many in our country would disagree with me, the second is likely to happen as well. In my view the world needs Donald Trump and consequently I am with him all the way.

FEAR NOT THE MAN

"Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves and the rulers take counsel together against the Lord and against his anointed saying, 'let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us'. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision"- Psalm 2: 1-4. Everything that I said about President Muhammadu Buhari and his APC during the Presidential campaign has come true.

THE NATIONAL GRAZING RESERVE BILL: THE GREATEST OF ALL EVILS

On April 18th 2016, Mr. Okonkwo Afamefuna wrote the following on his Facebook wall: “I decided to read a copy of the National Grazing Reserve Bill and I was surprised at what I saw. The Bill creates a council to be chaired by a chairman to be appointed by the president. The council shall have the power to take your land anywhere the land is located in the country and then pay you compensation. Your land, when taken, shall be assigned to herdsmen who shall use your land for grazing purposes. They shall bring cows to the land and you shall lose the land permanently to those Fulani cattlemen”.
