Sir Herbert Macaulay

If so that person is either insane, ignorant or both.

The history of the Yoruba is etched and entrenched in courage, strength, honor, fortitude and resistance to injustice, tyranny and falsehood.

We stopped the Fulani from coming any further south and defeated them in battle at Osogbo in 1840.

Gani Fawehinmi

Before the British came to the South West the Yoruba were fighting one another in civil wars for 100 years! That is the Yoruba for you. We do not fear war and we do not shy away from battle.

We do not lift or raise our swords easily or lightly but when and once we do we are irresistable!

Funmi Ransome-Kuti

Those that have betrayed us and those that believe they were born to rule and that seek to enslave us today would do well to remember this and know who and what we are. In the event of a second civil war I daresay that we will never make the great mistake of 1967 again and join forces with our oppressors to fight against the oppressed.

This time we shall get it right, stand shoulder to shoulder with the south and our brothers in the Middle Belt, face our collective enemies squarly and break our chains of servitude and bondage forever.
