The Senate Committee on Aviation on its findings indicted Borishade and Iyayi and recommended that they should refund the N5billion which it affirmed was the inflation of the safe tower project but also noted that the said issue was already in court.
It is also very important to note that only one Former Minister was told to refund money and not two. Femi Fani-Kayode was not indicted in any way and was not told to refund any money.
One of the senators that investigated Chief Fani-Kayode is Iyiola Omisore who is also a gubernatorial aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in the same Osun State which makes him an opponent to Chief Fani-Kayode. He was said to have influenced the Senate Committee on Aviation to indict Fani-Kayode on issues that have nothing to do with the N19.5 b and asked that he should be banned for five years from holding public office but the senate rejected the recommendations during the debate. All the recommendations on Fani-Kayode were rejected (negative) by the senate because they knew they have political motivation.
