The Sultan of Sokoto is the father of the Fulani people, the foremost traditional ruler in  northern Nigeria and the spiritual leader of all northern Muslims. He is not just a traditional ruler but an all-powerful potentate who represents a strange and mystical power and who heads an ancient and dark empire. Not only is he reverred by his subjects but he is also regarded and treated by some as something akin to a deity and by others as nothing less than the reincarnation of Sheik Usman Dan Fodio, the Sufi Muslim who founded the Caliphate empire by conquering and utterly crushing the Hausa kingdoms in a brutal and bloody jihad in northern Nigeria in 1804.

"In the early hours of Jan 15 1966, 51 years ago today, the man in this picture, Major Kaduna Nzeogwu, led a coup of junior army officers of mainly of Igbo extraction. Many were killed that night. The coup failed but the issues he, and later in 1991 Major Gideon Orkar raised in his own coup, are still pertinent.

In his book titled “Concerning the Government of Our Country and Neighboring Countries in the Sudan”, Nigeria's first Mahdi, Sheik Usman Dan Fodio, who is the father of the Fulani Caliphate and leader of the 1804 jihad that overwhelmed and conquered what is now known as northern Nigeria wrote:

When you take everything away from a man or a people, including their humanity, their loved ones, their land, their posessions, their faith, their God, their self-respect, their identity and their dignity and you put them and theirs under the fire and sword morning, day and night you cannot expect them not to voice their pain and not to scream and a shout. 

For those that are troubled, that are grieving, that are suffering, that are deeply concerned and that are in a state of utter despondency and despair about what is happening in our country today and what the future holds, keep hope alive and hear this loud and clear.

In reaction to the suggestion that the people of Southern Kaduna should defend themselves from mass murder and genocide given the fact that their state government has refused to protect them a political advisor to Governor Nasir El Rufai wrote the following in an essay titled "Kaduna Shall Be Great Again". He wrote:

Yet despite the desperate attempt to supress the facts and keep these tragic events out of public glare, the anger of the people continues to boil and their rage is mounting. Chief Kataps Ngwii of the Christian Information Network wrote the following:

SOUTHERN KADUNA: HIT BACK OR DIE! (Part 1) "Buhari is the last standing samurai of the oligarchy with the boldness to implement the Fulani agenda. He is doing it as fast as possible. The regime of Buhari is on a conquest mission. It is not hiding its intention because it believes that our strongholds have been spiritially damaged. What is going on has a spiritual precursor. They don't fight in the ordinary alone. The reason the Middle Belt is under massive siege is because they have been spiritually decimated. They have to pray AND FIGHT"- Ariyo Raphael Dare- Atoye.

I just watched a very sad and disturbing video of our soldiers on the war front begging their President and Commander in Chief to provide them with food and water. They did thisf through footage which was shot on their cell phone cameras and released as a short video on social media.

I just watched a horrific video of hundreds of young men in the traditional orange prison garb. They were in shining new handcuffs and their eyes were filled with the darkness of hopelessness, helplessness and sheer terror.
