President Barack Obama's paternal grandfather, Hussein Onyango Obama, was a cook to a British army officer. President Vladimer Putin's paternal grandfather, Spiridon Ivanovitch Putin, was a cook in Lenin's country home and later became a cook to Josef Stalin.
It is 20 years since the fall of the Berlin wall and since the world was returned to safety and sanity. Thank God for His awesome power and for His final victory over the evil empire of communism which boastfully proclaimed that there was no God. In the same way every wall in our nation Nigeria that stands against God's counsel for our lives and for our people shall eventually fall.
Whether anyone likes to accept it or not the bitter truth is that 80 per cent of our GRADUATES are unemployed in Nigeria today whilst 51 per cent of our PEOPLE are also unemployed. As a frightful and grave consequence of these shocking statistics, which I happen to believe may well be a world record in terms of unemployment, a terrible tragedy occured in various cities in our country on 15th March, 2014.
On Sunday 16th March 2014 a referendum will be held in the Crimea to determine whether the people of that country will stay in the Ukraine or opt to be part of the Russian Federation. This is a positive development and I have little doubt that they will vote to be part of Russia and thereby attempt to right the wrongs of 1954.
If President Olusegun Obasanjo had displayed just half the courage, firm resolve and strong determination over the Bakassi matter as President Vladimer Putin did over the Crimean crisis and Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher did over the Falkland Islands dispute, the Bakassi Peninsular and all it's people would still have been part and parcel of Nigeria today.
Until you hear the Scotsman play the bagpipes in the early morning mist of the Scottish highlands, you have heard nothing. Until you hear the Irish maiden sing ''O Danny Boy'' on the lush green fields of the Emerald Isle, you know nothing. Until you hear the Welshman sing ''Men of Harlech'' in the beautiful valleys of Pontypool and Pontyprid, you have heard nothing.
In 1926 Lord Frederick Lugard, the man who recommended the amalglamation of the northern and southern protectorates of Nigeria in 1914, who presided over Nigeria as it's Governor-General for many years and whose lover (Flora Shaw) gave ''Nigeria'' it's name said the following about the Nigerian people.
On 26th February 2014 one Mr. Adegoroye wrote "only an insane government will be celebrating centenary while the youths, women, children and citizens are being killed daily in cold blood. Rather than mourn the dead, we want to celebrate one hundred years of a failed state ruled by a failed and cursed generation. This country (Nigeria) needs more than just prayers if the government will be unable, for just twenty four hours,
''Stop telling me to pray to God for the destruction of Boko Haram. Americans did not pray to God for the destruction of terrorists, they simply conquered them with all the resources God has given them!''- DAVID KING
Mr. David King has spoken the bitter but simple truth. When I said that Boko Haram should be ruthlessly crushed three years ago and that GEJ should take a firm hand and drastic measures against them I was subjected to ridicule and condemnation by many.
The former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi is not my favourite person and I have differences with him on many issues. I must however commend his immense courage for speaking out and exposing the monuemental corruption in the government that he once served and that has now decided that they no longer require his services.

The bible asks ''who art thou o man?'' It goes on to answer it's own question by saying ''thou art as the grass that withers. Thou art as the flower that fadeth. A man that is born of woman, that is today and that tomorrow is no more''. One would have thought that this divine assertion, more than any other, would have humbled those that play God and those that believe that their hold on power will last forever but clearly this is not so.
