This morning I wish to raise an issue which most people may not be too interested in and which they may not want to talk about or even comment on. Nevertheless, and despite this, I shall still raise it here simply because I believe that it is of vital importance for so many reasons, not least of all because the very liberty and life of a fellow Nigerian is clearly at stake. I also think that it is an issue that we should all find a little time to ponder on, do a little soul-searching about, pray about and perhaps do our own research on and look into. This is because as far as I am concerned there is a grave injustice that is going on right under our very noses in our land today which is being systematically perpetuated by the Nigerian state even as you read this essay.
"Got home I couldn't sleep and was on my phone debating as usual on Nigeria with Chief Femi Fani-Kayode who had long gone to bed insisting on his one man crusade of having hot leveraged discussions with the likes of Nasir El-Rufai of the progressive north possibly forgetting the entrenched emir factor who can be asked to mobilize their people to thwart such discussions. Furthermore Favour Afolabi has failed to realize that a lot of us Nigerians lack the required enlightenement, discipline,nationalism and loyalty of the citizens, sacrifice, time, for the cause of the "Nigeria" is lacking. Why? The citizens generally don't have a genuine hope for a better Nigeria because of the crop of political leaders in government at the moment. One month after his reported comments that Nigeria’s first and only Prime Minister, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa died from an asthmatic attack and not gunshots, former High Commissioner to London, Chief Matthew Mbu, yesterday, tendered an unreserved apology to the Balewa family.
It is no longer news that 150 distinguished leaders and elders from the northern region of Nigeria met last week and insisted that power must be zoned back to the north by next year and warned President Goodluck Jonathan and any other southern aspirant that may be interested in running for the Presidency not to do.

Probably never; This presents us with the biggest lesson from the Obama victory, he didn't run a "Black" but "American" Campaign; the Jesse Jackson & Co. before him who initially wrote him off apparently didn't learn from History; they got stuck in History.

I usually do not respond to articles, especially of Ike Ugwu's sort, because I think that a lot of what is written about certain individuals in Nigeria is gibberish, and I do not intend to be bundled into that bandwagon. The propensity to eat up our heroes is the bathos of our times, and it appears that is what Ike, perhaps inadvertently, is promoting by his rather visceral article and his conclusions on Mr. Nasir El Rufai.

According to Sheik Ishaq Akintola, the leader of a well-known Nigerian Islamic organisation called MURIC, no less than one million Muslims intend to march to Abuja and storm the National Assembly in order to register their strong protest against the "persecution" of Senator Ahmed Sanni, the Yerima of Bakura and the man who introduced criminal sharia law into northern Nigeria when he was governor of Zamfara state approximately ten years ago. Akintola and his MURIC claim that there is absolutely nothing new and nothing wrong with the 50 year old senator having carnal knowledge of a 13 year old Egyptian girl after paying one hundred thousand dollars "for her" to her parents in Cairo. Apparently the senator was so delighted with his latest acquisition and he so enjoyed the services that she provided that he then smuggled her into Nigeria where he promptly and secretly "married" her in an Abuja mosque.
