By Vivian Agbaza(2012)

She recalls the familiar tune of happy days and nights past. She was once innocent and carefree and would never worry about the morrow. The world was her oyster, the sky was not a limit, it was a stepping stone! She was untouchable, she was passionate and full of life, she could take on the world! But suddenly, everything fell apart.

THE HEART AND SOUL OF NNAMDI KANU

In my essay titled "Head Bloodied But Not Bowed And The Ascension Of President-Elect Donald J. Trump" (Part 1) I wrote the following: "When I went to visit the great and brilliant freedom fighter, Nnamdi Kanu, who is the leader of IPOB and easily the most courageous, powerful and credible Igbo leader in Nigeria today in his cell we had a very instructive and long discussion.

HEAD BLOODIED BUT NOT BOWED AND THE ASCENSION OF PRESIDENT-ELECT DONALD J. TRUMP (PART 1)

Permit me to begin this contribution with an apology for my disappearance from the literary and political scene for the last one month but this was due to circumstances beyond my control. On October 21st, five days after my 56th birthday, I was arrested by the EFCC without an arrest warrant at the premises of the Federal High Court in Lagos where I had been earlier granted bail. Thereafter I was illegally detained by them without any detention order for 21 days.

THE PLAN TO RE-ARREST AND DETAIN ME ONCE AGAIN BY THE EFCC

I have been reliably informed by my sources within the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) that they are planning to re-arrest and detain me for as long as possible once again even though I have been granted bail by the Federal High Court in Lagos. Fresh charges were filed against me by the EFCC at the Federal High Court in Abuja on July 7th. The allegations border on a baseless allegation and false claim that I received twenty six million naira from the NSA's office in 2014. These are politically-motivated charges and there is no truth in or substance to them whatsoever.

A HATER OF WOMEN AND A PRESIDENT FROM THE DARK AGES

"Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I fear no evil for thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me"- Psalm 23. I recited this scripture three times and waited on the Lord quietly and calmly when I heard that my wife and son had been unlawfully apprehended and detained in a bank in far away Ado Ekiti on the orders of the EFCC whilst I was in Lagos. Somebody should tell Mumu Buhari to stop sending his goons to abduct other peoples wives and 8 month old infant babies and to stop trying to traumatise them, lock them up and destroy their lives simply because they are married to or fathered by opposition politicians and those he hates.

REUBEN ABATI’S ‘SPIRITUAL SIDE OF THE VILLA’, BUHARI’S ‘KITCHEN WIFE’ AND THE CURSE AND PAIN OF POWER

I read Reuben Abati's excellent write-up titled "The Spiritual Side Of Aso Villa" and I concur with his submissions. I worked in the Villa for three years as President Olusegun Obasanjo's spokesman on public affairs and a lot of very strange things happened there. Amongst them is the fact that the two people that served as Senior Special Assistant to President Obasanjo on Media and Publicity one after the other, namely the much-loved Mr. Tunji Oseni and then later Mrs. Remi Oyo, both contracted a terrible terminal illness whilst in office and died a few years later.

THE REAL BARACK OBAMA

The other day I posted a copy of the now famous picture of President Barack Obama and his Russian counterpart President Vladimer Putin where they both coldly looked into one another's eyes without the trace of a smile. They looked like two hardened prize fighters in their prime that were summoned into the middle of the boxing ring by the referee for the usual short pep talk just before he shouts "seconds out" and sends everyone, apart from the two boxers themselves, out of the ring.

RE: CASH FOUND IN JUDGES HOMES- TRUST NOT THE DSS

The Greek tragic dramatis and philosopher Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC) said "in war, truth is the first casualty". It is in this context that one has to view the absurd claims by the DSS that massive sums of cash ranging from 2 million USD to hundreds of thousands of euros and pounds sterling were found in the homes of all the judges that were arrested in the early hours of saturday morning.
